The first sail - test out the instruments and the rudder improvements.

The days before the boat was put into the water, there was a considerable amount of wind. Luckily on the first day to test the boat, there was very little, but enough wind. Perfect to check if all was working well and in case something need adjustment this would not be a problem.
The modification on the rudder shaft showed perfect. There is no movement anymore and the rudder is very light and precise.
Also the instruments seem to work OK, but still need to be calibrated.

Later on some friends came by to take the first pictures of the Bierkaai under sail.

The first picture shows the Genoa II without the blue colar on the leach. Instead of this, from now on there will be a sleeve which will be hoisted over the rolled in head sail to protect it from the sun. This can be used for each of the head sails.
